Made to order

From muslin to silk

A made-to-order dress takes three to five months and four visits. Here is what happens at each one, so nothing about it is a surprise.

01

Conversation

One hour in the atelier. You try on the samples, we talk about the day, the place and how you want to move. You leave with a sketch and a price.

Week 1

02

The muslin

We draft your pattern and sew the whole dress once in plain cotton. At the first fitting we pin it, draw on it and change what needs changing.

Weeks 3 to 5

03

Silk fitting

The dress is cut in its real fabrics and fitted again, now with the lining, the lace placed by hand and the hem left open.

Weeks 8 to 12

04

Final fitting

The last look in the mirror with your shoes on. We press the dress, pack it, and you take it home or we bring it to you.

Prices

What a dress costs

Bridal gowns start at 2,900 EUR and occasion dresses at 1,200 EUR. The price we give you after the first conversation is the price you pay; changes at fittings are included.

A deposit of 40 percent starts the work. The rest is due at the final fitting.

Questions

How early should I come in?

Five to eight months before the wedding is ideal. We can work in three when the calendar allows, and an occasion dress in six weeks.

Can I change a dress from the collection?

Yes. Sleeves, neckline, length and fabric can all change. If the change is large, we treat it as a new dress and tell you so before we start.

I live in another country. Can you still make my dress?

Yes, with the first conversation on a call and two visits to the atelier, usually the muslin and the final fitting. We send a fitting kit for the rest.

What happens to the muslin?

It is yours. Some brides frame a piece of it, most let us keep it as the pattern for a second dress later.
